The Mayor's Commission on Veterans Affairs, Chesapeake honored U.S. Military Members who have died in the line of duty, at the annual City of Chesapeake Memorial Day Ceremony. Conducted on Monday, May 31, 2021, the featured speaker was Col Reginald Hairston, USMC (Ret). View the ceremony, with Commissioner CDR Linc Smith, USNR (Ret) as Master of Ceremonies. 

From the United States Staes Space Force Website: "The U.S. Space Force (USSF) is a new branch of the Armed Forces. It was established on December 20, 2019 with enactment of the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act and will be stood-up over the next 18 months. The USSF was established within the Department of the Air Force, meaning the Secretary of the Air Force has overall responsibility for the USSF, under the guidance and direction of the Secretary of Defense. Additionally, a four-star general known as the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) serves as the senior military member of the USSF. "

The Chesapeake Mayor’s Commission on Veterans Affairs held a Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11:00 am, with U.S. Navy Fleet Forces Command Master Chief Richard O'Rawe as keynote Speaker, Linc Smith serving as Master of Ceremonies. 

The past year was a pivotal one for the Military Officers Association of America. MOAA strengthened its position and continued to lead among the military and veterans’ organizations nationwide. MOAA brings a credible voice and volume to Capitol Hill to look out for all uniformed servicemembers, veterans, their families and surviving spouses.

MOAA marked its 90th year in 2019 with major moves  – physically and virtually – made to ensure the organization remains successful for years to come. Here’s a look at where MOAA is headed, narrated by Linc Smith. 

For the Summer of 2020, the Military Officers Association of America is conducting a Virtual Storming of Capitol Hill. MOAA is advocating halt to the proposed reduction of 18,000 military medical billets and restructuring of Military Treatment Facilities.
